Royal Porthcawl Golf Club is a world renown course located in the seaside town of Porthcawl. Founded in 1891, rich history and high-profile tournaments continue to provide an additional pull for visitors worldwide.

The club boasts an 18-hole Championship Course. Porthcawl has many defences; narrow fairways, well-protected greens and large catching run offs into bunkers. Royal Porthcawl Golf Club has hosted numerous major tournaments such as the Amateur Championship, Curtis Cup, Walker Cup and Ladies British Open.

Royal Porthcawl’s setting includes stunning views through the entire round as the course is situated on the South Wales coastline, with views from the Gower Peninsula to North Devon. Surrounded by rich by natural beauty, rolling countryside, sand dunes and a perfectly architected course that receives updating more frequently than most.

From the back tees Royal Porthcawl Golf Club measures 7,137 yards from the back tees and has a Par of 72. Designed by the legendary architect Harry Colt, Royal Porthcawl sits amongst his prestigious portfolio of courses including Sunningdale St Georges Hill.

Porthcawl boasts some of the best if not the best year-round playing surfaces and conditions in Wales, due to its sand-based nature and world class maintenance team. Within recent times Royal Porthcawl has redesigned all its bunkers changing the way golf balls get sucked into the bunkers. With precise landscaping the new design of the bunkers has added an extra layer of protection for the course.

In addition to the Course Royal Porthcawl Golf Club also has a range of practice facilities, including:

- A large driving range next to the 18th hole.  

- The Academy course, used for developing golfers and those who wish to practice their games.

- A large chipping and putting green complete with bunkers that replicate the golf course.

- Both greens are to course specification so there is transferability for when you step on the course.
