Weston-Super-Mare Golf Club is situated in North Somerset; England is renown as a year-round playable golf course. The perfect course for golfers looking to find summer conditions during the winter months. A links course situated within a stone’s throw of the beach creates different challenges with each round.
There is one course on site which is a Par 70 layout that measures 6245 yards from the back tees. 6000 yards from the yellows and 5579 yards from the red tee box. This brilliantly kept course features well designed holes all of which are individual with their own character. It is a challenging course where greens are known for their speed and subtle breaks.

One standout hole at Weston-Super-Mare is the Par 4, 5th, which is named ‘Brean Down’. This 411-yard hole is situated across the road from the rest of the course and is easily the hardest approach to any of the 18 holes on the course. The dog leg left hole has a prevailing wind which also drags the ball towards the 6th away from the out of bounds area of the Weston Beach front. To have a chance of a look at the green for two you will need a long and accurate tee shot that navigates the estuary wind from the right. The approach to the green is guarded by a large dune to the left and vegetation on the right-hand side. These raised areas interfere with the wind so be careful when clubbing and aiming on approach.

Additionally, hole 11 is another renown hole at Weston-Super-Mare is 199 yards in length. This Par 3 has a narrow entrance due to its well- placed bunkers that guard the mouth and the surrounding banks and run off areas make for both a stellar tee shot or a good up and down Par save. You will either need to hit more than one good shot on this hole to walk off with a par. The prevailing wind usually into/ across from the right hand side will also see you club up in a bid to hit the green..

Weston-Super-Mare also has a fully stocked pro shop and a clubhouse that offers food and drinks. The Professional Ben Lock is very friendly and helpful when visiting Weston-Super-Mare Golf Club and he is an asset to the club. - If you check out the club website you will be able to use some of his top tips for navigating the course and hopefully an even more enjoyable round of golf.
